Position Overview
We are looking for an independent, growth-minded, self-starting Plant Controller to join our growing team. Our organization was established in 1982 and is privately held with 30 employees and $7M in revenue. We have a driving philosophy to put problem-solving and customer service first. Catalytic heaters, which are currently our company’s single product line, go hand-in-hand with that philosophy; they are a simple, straightforward solutions to common problems in the natural gas industry. We have a mission to improve energy resilience across the globe and are looking for talented people to join the cause.
The Plant Controller will be a part of the leadership team and involved with setting company strategy. 80% of the time will be focused on accounting duties, and 20% will be focused on leading business services such as Human Resources and IT. We are looking for someone who is in love with the idea of a well-oiled machine that wants things to work like clockwork and has a passion for bringing people together. The Plant Controller will be hands on, and lead and manage a small team.
The Plant Controller will be given the chance to do work properly, as we are not looking to bring them in to clean up a mess. They will be tasked with refining processes and will have the opportunity to make a real impact right away. Additionally, they will be in charge of saving money, and improving the efficiency of the accounting functions. We have a decent foundation, but need the Plant Controller to be the architect and help us design things in a way that will be very efficient. Since we are a small company, the Plant Controller will have autonomy and variety. They will get to put on different hats and will be able to make a direct impact on the employee experience.
Qualifications/Skills
Must haves:
- 5-10 years of experience within a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business
- Experience leading and managing a small team
- Financial reporting (P&L) experience
- Auditing experience
- Experience modeling and forecasting on a small level with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- ERP experience with JD Edwards, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or QuickBooks
- Understanding of how to create or further expand upon existing accounting processes
- GAAP Experience
- Month-end close, billing, and AR/AP experience
- Strong analytical skills
Nice to haves:
- A combination of private and public experience
- Human resources and payroll experience
- Studied for or possesses CPA license
- Experience with vendor management (IT)

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
