• Batch Plant Operator - Cranesville Block Co., Inc.

Summary:

This position is responsible for meeting daily production schedules at our Hot Mix Asphalt plant. Employee may at times be required to operate plant equipment such as dump trucks and skid steers while also performing clerical work and other peripheral duties as required. The ability to work at multiple locations is a must for this position.

• Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures.
• Meet daily production goals by understanding and performing all aspects of plant operations.
• Perform general plant maintenance and repairs.
• Ordering raw materials
• Batching Asphalt
• Performing quality control on asphalt and aggregates.
• Completing transactions with customers (COD & Account)
• Conduct routine plant maintenance including greasing, checking oil levels, and shoveling under conveyors and spillage areas.
• Operate equipment including skid loaders, plant truck.
• Communicate current job information with contractors and drivers.
• Maintain plant files/records and cash flow.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly manages workforce at given plant.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Experience: A broad background of concrete, aggregate, asphalt and or construction industry is preferred but not a prerequisite.
• Good communication skills and ability to multi-task effectively.
• Computer Skills – Able to work with email, share files, Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Relationships within trucking, cement, concrete, aggregate industry and/or other logistics firms will be valued.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills : Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Reasoning Ability : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Able to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.

The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 to 50 pounds. Example supply boxes, storage boxes, reams of paper etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
