North Star Sheets, a subsidiary of Schwarz Partners, has an exciting opportunity available for a Plant Superintendent in Cottage Grove, MN! The Plant Superintendent is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the entire production facility, which included Production, Shipping and Maintenance. The Plant Superintendent has the authority to manage and direct the Production, Shipping and Maintenance Departments, and the related workforce to maintain safety, quality, and efficient production

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:

• Leads all departments in the plant with department supervisors to maintain safety, quality, and efficient production.
• Coordinates production, distribution, and warehousing in accordance with policies, principles, and established procedures.
• Coordinates plant safety, environmental and training activities in cooperation with the Safety and Human Resources Departments.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Counsel employees both professionally and personally when they need it.
• Train and develop employees in efficient operational procedures and methods of production; support other management staff in such training.
• Ensure that all laws and regulations are being followed and product meets regulatory quality standards.
• Enforce OSHA regulations, establish safety training matrix along with safety first culture.
• Monitor productivity and waste daily; troubleshoot, adjust or improvements where/when necessary.
• Create monthly and weekly reports on productivity and downtime analysis.
• Maintains positive working relationship with employees and peers.
• Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of production area.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years’ experience in a supervisor role.
• 7+ years’ experience in progressive leadership roles.
• 10+ years corrugated manufacturing experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or business-related field.

REQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.):

• Ability to use Microsoft Office programs to create reports and visual training aids.
• High communication skills.
• Technical proficiency on corrugator operations and product quality.
