Job Description Summary:

The Digital Capabilities Manager, SAP Platform Services is responsible to drive and govern all BUILD and RUN activities for the Linux and Windows servers supporting the SAP Eco-system and supporting systems. This includes scheduling and implementing patching and monitoring of the servers, AWS cloud supporting services, and evaluation and implementation of efficient use of AWS capabilities. This role is responsible to drive and govern all BUILD and RUN for OpenText Output Management and OpenText IXOS archiving solutions, including application upgrades/patching and support tickets and projects that utilize the tools.

Job Description

• Responsible for the Governance of the AWS server solutions for the SAP Eco-System. This includes Hosting (AWS), Platform Engineering for Linux and Windows, OTOM and OT IXOS.

• Execute on both BUILD (development) and RUN (support) through diligent planning, attention to detail, effective delegation, creative leveraging of partner resources and capabilities, and efficient decision making to drive business outcomes.

• Provide support to the Application Teams for technical support to projects as needed.

• Build strong inter-personal relationships with peers and other key stakeholders that can help with the smooth implementation of new applications/capabilities and technologies related to the SAP systems and applications.

• Ensure compliance of system to regulatory requirements.

• Tightly govern and provide oversight to the team to manage both the RUN budget and specific investment budgets regarding AWS spend.

• Knowledge of all stages of cloud infrastructure design, configuration, and provisioning of hybrid cloud. AWS is the primary cloud platform.

• Oversee design, configuration, and computing cluster for SAP HANA and SAP ASE systems with support of the SAP technical teams.

• Manage AWS cross region virtual private cloud (VPC) environments. Knowledge of S3 bucket policy configurations is a must.

• Support configuration management for automation and orchestration using automation frameworks such as Ansible.

• Knowledge of security best practices at all levels of the cloud data centers.

• Extensive knowledge of Linux and Windows images for EC2 instances. Supervise the latest OS and security patching ensuring the compatibility of underlying running applications.

• Ensure maximum uptime and stability of cloud and on-premise servers in prod and non-prod environments.

• Mitigate any production issues by using automated monitoring and ticketing.

• Manage Business Continuity escalation and Disaster Recover planning for the SAP and SAP connecting systems.

• Effectively work with a broad set of business, IT, and service providers to achieve organizational goals.

• Responsible for OTOM and OT IXOS teams for daily operations and issues related to projects and upgrades.

• Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions for IXOS and OTOM.

• Ensure annual software maintenance is renewed, quotation is correct, and provide a three-year cost projection for AWS for SAP, OTOM, OT IXOS, and other software solutions for the SAP Eco-system.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in technology or equivalent work experience in Information Technology.

• Certified AWS Solutions Architect-Professional level or AWS Certified Advanced Networking is preferred.

• Exceptional knowledge of Cloud Platforms in AWS with a minimum of 3+ years is preferred.

• Knowledge of SAP Business Platform Technology, Google, and Azure cloud experience is a plus.

• Relevant work experience (3+ years) in IT infrastructure.

• Experience with hybrid infrastructure systems.

• Red Hat Certified Engineer certification is a plus.

• Background in Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology is a plus.
