Job description

• Responsible for programming automation and controls systems involving PLCs
• Lay out logic and control systems
• Determine loads, design, and spec electrical equipment
• Install Programmable Logic Controllers on new and existing equipment
• Good understanding of NFPA 70E and basic wiring techniques
• Experience with drives, motors, and motor controls
• Possess a good understanding of sensors
• Possess a basic understanding of pneumatics – cylinders, valves, solenoids, etc.
• Have a good understanding ladder logic programs
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
• Documenting work and maintaining records, back-up copies of programs and parameter sets for the plant
• Assisting in the training of staff related to controls systems
• Monitoring work and systems to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and County codes, regulations, standards, and mandates

• Must be experienced in PLC logic and programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or other)
• B.S. in electrical engineering or electronic engineering technology preferred with 2+ years of related experience in an industrial setting OR an equivalent combination of related education and/or experience
• Computer literate; proficient with Microsoft Windows, MS Office programs and applications for word processing, email, database management and spreadsheets
• Strong communication skills and strong technical background
