Job description

An established food production facility located in Westchester County, NY seeks a PM Prep Cook to assist with our evening production. The ideal candidate must be a responsible team player with an attention to detail. Prior experience in high volume production, USDA Facilities, catering or Hotels is highly desirable.

This position reports to the PM Kitchen Supervisor, the Director of Operations and the Culinary Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

Assisting with the thawing, cooking, cooling and storing of all meats, grains, eggs and vegetables.

Working efficiently within the time constraints of the shift. This includes delegating tasks, following up on their completion and getting the job done.

Staying on top of cleaning tasks, the dish pit and the overall cleanliness of the Kitchen.

Following all Department of Health Requirements, HACCP, and Good Manufacturing Practices therefore keeping the kitchen up to code and accident-free.

Making sure that all procedures and food quality are consistent.

Maintaining open communication with upper management regarding any issues that might affect production. (products, employees, equipment, etc.)

REQUIREMENTS:

3+ years experience as a Prep Cook in a High-Volume Kitchen environment.

Proficient knowledge of kitchen equipment use. (ovens, choppers, tilt skillets, mixers, refrigerators, freezers, etc.)

Adherence to proper food handling, cooking, cooling, storing, labeling, etc.

Must be comfortable standing, and moving, for 8-10 hours with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Reliable transportation, punctuality and the ability to adhere to a schedule are essential.

English speaking is a must. Spanish speaking is a plus.

ServSafe Certification and/or NY Food Handlers’ Certification are a plus.

Must have proper documentation to work in the US.

The schedule is Sunday through Thursday. 3pm to around 11:30pm or whenever the job is done.

Position is available immediately and interviews will commence ASAP.
