- Create lessons that will teach students both basic and advanced knowledge that will help students pass the NCCER certification test.
- Create lessons that will teach students career readiness and employability skills.
- Create lessons that will teach students career skills in related carpentry skill areas such as masonry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC.
- Teach students general and tool safety skills related to the career field.
- Build relationships between colleges, business partners, families and community members.
- Foster effective communication with parents and/or guardians.
- Commit to personal and professional growth.
- Be responsible for the care and welfare of the school and student body.
- Provide for the care and protection of school property.
- Carry out the policies, rules and regulations of Horry County Schools and other responsibilities as directed by the principal.
- Certification as required by the state of South Carolina in the field of assignment.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED and four years’ experience working as a contractor Background in Career and Technology Education preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in written and spoken interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in use of technology
- Physically capable of frequently lifting or moving up to 40 pounds;
- Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus;
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time;
- Manual dexterity for the purpose of using a telephone and data entry;
- Read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids;
- Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; and
- Speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone.
