Position Summary: Job may be performed in the Binghamton office location or as a remote position. Process a variety of premium and billing requests for our policyowners and payors such as EFT processing and updating bank account information for policies, answer policyowners and agents written and telephoned inquiries regarding billing and payments on various administrative systems. Additional pay for Spanish speakers.

There are three available positions. Two are remote positions. The other is a hybrid job located in our home office in Binghamton, NY. Please indicate which position you would prefer.

2. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide extensive telephone customer service assistance to our insureds, agents and RSDs
  • Process list bill, lockbox and loan payments for multiple administration systems
  • Process credit card payments
  • Prepare bank deposits, cash receipts and journal entries
  • Submit check requests for premium overpayments and bank fee reimbursements
  • Research premium payments, returned items and provide detailed payment histories as needed
  • Code and validate insured EFT bank information; reverse premium payments for unpaid items
  • Process payment reallocations, automatic premium loan reversals
  • Code, change and delete policy bank account information
  • Review and send premium payment notices
  • Process premium billing mode, frequency and address changes
  • Prepare and send all outgoing correspondence; document policy and agent imaging as needed
  • Respond to verbal and written premium and loan payment related requests

3. Critical Qualifications:

  • Customer service experience
  • Prior bookkeeping, banking or cash handling experience
  • Ability to research and resolve premium issues
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task, with accuracy
  • Typing and computer skills, including entry level skills for various Microsoft Office software programs such as Word, Excel and Access
  • Extensive phone and computer work daily
  • LOMA Customer Service (online life insurance courses) (ACS or PCS) designation preferred
  • Associates degree preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $33,500.00 per year
