Food of Joy is a catering and meal delivery company near SDSU. We provide you a peaceful, respectful, and low stress work environment with competitive pay and the opportunity to grow. The position will start with around 30 hours a week. We open until 5 PM. Therefore, you don’t need to work late nights. We are also closed on major holidays.

Part-time, ~ 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

- Prep various raw and cooked ingredients

- Prepare food based on recipes and procedures

- Uphold food quality standards

- Follow food safety and sanitation protocols

- Help with washing dishes

- Help with cleaning, opening, and closing

Qualifications:

- 2-3 years of experiences in a restaurant kitchen

- Familiar with food sanitation principles and practices

- Able to follow prep procedures and meet standards

- Punctual and dependable

- Clean and organized

- Can quickly perform various tasks

- Team player with good communication skills

- Able to learn quickly and follow instructions

- Can speak English fluently.

Physical Requirements:

· Able to lift up to 50 lbs

· Able to comfortably work on counters and sinks from 32 – 42 inches.

· Able to move through aisles and spaces as small as 12 inches.

· Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.

· Able to rotate, twist, bend, squat, lift, stoop, reach, kneel, crouch, or crawl when needed.

· Able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions.

· Able to work with hot, cold, noisy, and hazardous equipment

· Able to work with all food ingredients.

· Able to work with chemicals routinely used in a commercial kitchen, such sanitizer, degreaser, detergent, and bleach.

Eligibility:

· You are a U.S. citizen or are authorized to work legally in U.S.

· You have a valid California driver’s license and a clean driving record.

· You have a current San Diego County food handler card.
