Job description

The Guide is responsible for caring for wildlife and serving as a hunting guide at the 3,000-acre preserve in Stockbridge, New York.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Leads hunters in harvesting trophy whitetail deer, red stag, turkey, duck, and geese.
• Communicates the age, score, and price of any animal.
• Field dresses after guests harvest animals.
• Transports guests to and from Turning Stone Resort Casino.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience as a high fence hunting guide is preferred but not required.
• Ability to demonstrate a sci score within 5 inches.
• Previous experience as a general laborer or related position.
• Must have experience in customer service.
• Current CPR and first aid certification is required or training will be provided.
• Must be able to handle heavy outdoor physical work in extreme temperatures.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to frequently stand/walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work outdoors under conditions ranging from extreme hot to extreme cold.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs. and frequently up to 40 lbs. using proper lifting techniques.
• Repetitive use of the hands for constant pushing, pulling, fingering, and grasping in the use of tools and equipment.
• Must have close visual acuity in order to operate the equipment.
• Subject to noise and electrical, mechanical, chemical, and explosive hazards.

• Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach.

Pay: From $15.50 per hour
