POSITION SUMMARY
The President & COO is responsible for fostering the staff experience and guest focused culture of the Resort required to accomplish the exceptional service level and financial performance goals. Through collaboration with Alterra Mountain Company and the Resort Leadership Team, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the resort to manage and establish long-range goals, capital, and strategic plans, execute on operating plans and ensure the appropriate policies and procedures are implemented to support the staff and culture of Crystal Mountain and Alterra Mountain Company. This position is ultimately responsible for managing the daily operations of the resort, including Mountain & Base Operations, Lodging, Food & Beverage and Retail/Rental Outlets, Ski and Ride School, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and more.
The successful candidate must possess strong and proven strategic leadership, communication, collaborative and organizational skills along with understanding the mechanical operations of the resort’s winter and summer operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
General Responsibilities
Foster a positive and energetic culture that recognizes and rewards efforts to maximize employee engagement and guest service
Create, participate in, and maintain strong relationships in the local community, the industry and beyond
Provide leadership and participation in the development and evaluation of the overall resort's strategic and operational plans
Collaborate with Alterra Mountain Company's leadership to develop a comprehensive and robust growth strategy for the resort, including real estate & development opportunities
Evaluate and establish operating plans supporting the long-range plan of the organization, introducing new programs/strategies where appropriate to fuel growth, drive operational efficiency and/or ensure and regulatory compliance
Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation
Provide strategic financial input and leadership on key issues ranging from the evaluation of potential alliances, capital projects, acquisitions and/or mergers
Budgetary responsibilities include capturing requisite revenue through successful business development strategies and managing expenses
Support development opportunities by working directly with development resources to ensure successful implementation of capital planning projects
Establish, implement, and enforce safety standards in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as State & Federal laws

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
An experienced leader with extensive ski/hospitality industry experience and proven success in P&L management in a senior leadership role at the resort/property level
A demonstrated track record of effective execution, including revenue growth and profit enhancement through efficient and streamlined operations
Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
Success at building relationships and collaborating cross-functionally across the organization
Able to work under minimal supervision with a high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to drive performance across multiple concepts through the creation of frameworks, process and best practice sharing
Proven track record of building and leading high performing teams
Capacity to communicate effectively in writing and verbally across all levels of the organization and across multiple aspects of the community and industry
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple complex tasks in parallel
Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to influence key partners from global, corporate, segment and market roles
Working knowledge of computers including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
EDUCATION
Required
Bachelor’s and advanced Degrees preferred
10+ years related experience in consumer services, preferably in travel, tourism or other destination resort or hotel-related businesses
10+ years of demonstrated success leading complex, multiple resort/business operations with varying lines of business
Travel Required
Travel is required of this position. Estimated percentage of travel is 10%.
