Job Description:
The candidate will interact with all divisions of Bath Iron Works in the development and implementation projects that support construction of both Aegis and Zumwalt Class destroyers. This Senior Engineering position will be heavily involved in ships construction as it relates to lifting and handling throughout the site. The successful candidate will be constructing, modifying and repairing any one of a number of support structures, piers or buildings to aid in ships construction.
Required/Preferred Education/Training:
Civil Strutural Engineering, Minimum of Bachelors Degree with PE Certification preferred
Required/Preferred Experience:
- Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and implement projects.
- 5-Years experience designing steel and concrete structures
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Repair experience in a marine environment a plus
- Professional Engineering Certificate preferred.
- PC skills mandatory.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (ie..…equipment foundations, mocks, jigs and fixtures)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
Demonstrated ability to manage conflict.While performing the duties of the job, the employee must be able to climb ladders, stairs, work at heights and be able to work around moving machinery, as well as, possess the ability to work with multiple manufacturing trades in support of emergent and urgent jobs.
