Job summary
World Wide Safety is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to own the product lifecycle for new technical solutions that protect our associates by reducing Muscular Skeletal Diseases through developing innovative wearable technology solutions.

In this role you will be responsible for defining and delivering important programs with broad cross-organizational, cross-business, or significant technology impact. You will be expected to operate with complete independence and may be assigned to focus on areas where the business and/or architectural strategy has not yet been defined.

To succeed in this role, you must be a passionate advocate for the customer, always looking to invent and simplify on their behalf and be comfortable working in an ambiguous environment. You must think big and build a solution that can scale to meet the global needs of thousands of customers. You will own the technology roadmap for broader set of systems, manage a growing portfolio of programs, and at times may be asked to directly lead the design of the solution, implementation and delivery of a highly complicated cross-functional project in an ambiguous or new area of technology.

As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will be part of the larger technical leadership community at Amazon. This community forms the backbone of the company, plays a critical role in the broad business planning, working closely with senior executives to develop business targets and resource requirements, influence our long-term technical and business strategy, and enable us to deliver innovative new solutions rapidly.

Key job responsibilities
  • Work with executive leadership and stakeholders to define vision and strategy that continuously improves on customer experience when customers interact with us.
  • The best customer experience from a support perspective is when no support was required. In this role, you would be responsible for developing a Three Year Plan and implementing in one year increments.
  • Able to make the case for technology programs. Influences teams to dedicate resources, and leads the effort.
  • Work closely with support engineers, managers, program managers, product managers, and software developers to develop the best technical solutions, tools and implementations.
  • Consistently brings strong, data-driven business and technical judgment to decisions.
  • Drive large and complex cross-org programs and deliver customer & organizational value.
  • Understands how to decompose complex processes into straight-forward solutions, often inventing new ones.
  • Present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
  • Create, execute and communicate project plans and delivery commitments

  • 1+ year of MySQL or similar database experience.
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and designing for performance, scalability, and availability.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience in operations technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
