1. PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience in chemical manufacturing preferred but not required
• Forklift operation skills are preferred but not required
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds

2. TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

• Familiar with PC skills, including MS Office products
• Ability to perform routine work assignments
• Ability to work well under pressure

3. BASIC FUNCTION

• Learn tooperate one chemical manufacturing process area to create intermediate or finished flavor products.
• Troubleshoot assigned equipment and process
• Perform in-process testing
• Documentation as required per PO and SOP
• Obtain SAP proficiency per operator level
• Safety compliant
• GMP-good manufacturing practices (sampling, etc)

4. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs the following work assignments under the direct supervision of the training specialist, senior operator, shift lead, or supervisor:

• Selects appropriate raw materials, performs proper transactions for consuming materials into a batch
• Accurately read and monitor control instruments
• Prepare neat and accurate records for all operations as required
• Work in accordance with all relevant requirements including, but not limited to GMP, AIB, OSHA, HACCP, FDA, USDA, and internal safety guidelines
• Prepare product packaging for the next step in production or for final shipment to the customer according to department specifications
• Perform in-process quality testing to ensure customer specifications are met
• Identify deviations and document/communicate them in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures
• Understand the bill of materials and/or formula specifications so the proper quantities of materials are added in the proper sequence
• Specific tasks for encapsulation:
  • Perform basic blank bead encapsulation process
  • Operated several encapsulation systems
  • Compounds oils for flavor encapsulations
