Position Summary:

Airbus U.S. Space & Defense is a trusted U.S. government partner for industry leading satellite, geospatial intelligence and cyber capabilities, secure communications, space exploration missions, military helicopters, unmanned aerial systems, and fixed wing aircraft. We are seeking a Supply Chain Procurement Manager for the growth of the procurement team. Flawless execution in the supply chain is critical for Airbus U.S. performance on its contracts. Key elements of success include clear and easy to execute requirements, clear documentation and training, effective partnership with suppliers, and transparent performance measures which enable accountability and follow-up.


This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation, and sustainable growth.


The Procurement Manager also ensures his or her team develops and maintains in a timely manner all applicable contractual documentation in compliance with any affiliated companies being serviced. The successful candidate will have experience leading procurement teams.


Position Responsibilities:

General Procurement Strategy & Management - 50%

  • Primary focal point for Management and Operations for assigned scope.
  • Support organization in general procurement in creating and formulating the procurement strategy by providing data about suppliers.
  • Supplier Relationship Management - Responsible for building relations with suppliers and identifying new vendors.
  • RFP/RFI Process for assigned procurements.
  • Support procurement activities.
  • Responsible for negotiation and management of contract terms and conditions and communicated with all stakeholders.
  • Participate in the development of Statements of Work where applicable, and lead RFP/Q process, including requests for ROMs.
  • Lead the review of quotes and proposals for accuracy, compliance and price/cost reasonableness.
  • Lead negotiation of cost and other terms and conditions.
  • Identify supplier risks and propose mitigation actions. Help managing the development of the suppliers when necessary.
  • Develop base intelligence strategies to ensure the company benefits from the latest supply offering.
  • Bring innovative solutions to maximize value proposition for products and bid opportunities.


Team Management/Lead - 25%

  • Provide leadership and coaching to less experienced team members.
  • Set realistic and achievable objectives & goals for the team based on procurement strategy, Supply Chain strategy and objectives and suggested operational improvements.
  • Measure KPIs


Procurement & Process Tools Expert - 15%

  • Support compliance and related processes through team collaboration and communication with internal customers.
  • Resolve general procurement process blockages and recommend solutions to operational and contractual problems.
  • Develop and set performance metrics and goals
  • Develop and maintain training in procurement processes
  • Monitor and manage actions to facilitate timely payment to the supplier minimizing disruption of processes.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:


Education:

  • Preferred: BS/BA degree in Management, Supply Chain or Finance


Experience Required:

  • 8-10 years of procurement experience in U.S. Defense environment strongly preferred
  • 8 - 10 years of Government Contracting experience required
  • 8-10 years' experience sourcing suppliers, including evaluation of suppliers and development of Requests for Proposals.
  • Experience in leading complex contract negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Working knowledge of Deltek CostPoint or similar MRP system platform

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Strong knowledge of FAR/DFARS.
  • Must be able to organize, forecast, establish, implement, and execute goals.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and leadership.
  • Experience leading team.
  • Communicate in a clear and concise manner effectively across multiple levels.
  • Be team-minded and ready to work in a multi-functional and multi-cultural, fast-moving and complex/technical environment.
  • Flexible attitude and strong initiative.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication (verbal/writing), and presentation skills.


Travel Required:

  • 20% Domestic and International


Eligibility:

  • US Citizenship


Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents.
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment.
