Job Summary

The Product (Offering) Manager will provide product management support for Vertiv’s 3-Phase AC Power Distribution and Switching products. Work with the Director of Product Management to:

• Provide product marketing leadership.
• Gain deep insight into customer needs and desired outcomes through extensive customer, channel and market research.
• Convert insights into innovative product strategies and product roadmaps and detailed market requirements.
• Provide leadership in bringing new products to the market in the shortest time possible.
• Manage profitability and forecast of product line.
• Be an expert on markets, industries, channels, and competitive product lines.
• Develop sales and marketing strategies and plans to maximize product revenue and profitability.

The end objective is to ensure that Vertiv maintains a leading competitive position in the AC Power Switching & Distribution product segment by identifying market requirements, developing and maintaining an industry leading portfolio that achieves business objectives.

Responsibilities :

• Responsible leading efforts to discover and develop:
  • Voice of Customer research and analysis
  • Innovative product strategies, roadmaps and specifications
  • Value propositions, selling stories and product launch plans
  • Product lifecycle management including product introduction and planned obsolescence
  • Pricing
  • Competitive analysis and appropriate responses
  • Product line profitability & forecasting
  • Requirements development of product documentation and quote/ordering forms
  • Marketing promotions including support of literature, web site, sales tools, and other collateral development
  • Provide training and general product support.
• High level of interaction at an executive level. High degree of involvement with customers, industry associations, and other market information sources to ensure sufficient market knowledge. Constant cross- cultural interactions, with sales personnel, product management, R&D, engineering, and executive management.
• Analyze market/industry trends, sales channels, and competitor’s products, pricing, and product positioning.

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s in Engineering or related technical degree; electrical engineering degree or related experience preferred
• At least 5 years in technical products marketing, strategic planning, marketing or directly related experience.
• Very strong analytical and communication skills including presentations
• MBA and prior consulting, strategic planning or product marketing preferred
• Experience in 3-phase power distribution preferred

*** Travel as required, approximately 15%, including participation in trade shows and key customer visits.
