Overview:
Location: Snap-on Tools, 2801 80th Street, Kenosha, Wisconsin 53143

Position Summary:
Responsible for global product management and marketing functions for approximately 6 major and 6 minor product families. Includes planning, developing, designing, and launching new products and implementing global marketing programs. Ultimately responsible for competitive assessment, focus groups, product positioning, promotion, pricing, market research, packaging, supply chain, life cycle & inventory management, new product development, marketing launch programs, sales training and advertising to ensure profits meet objectives. Manage supplier/manufacturing plant relationships to ensure strategic partnership and drive performance improvement on quality, on-time delivery, inventory, lead-time and cost. Identify and resolve Snap-on, Blue Point and supplemental brand and channel conflict.

Responsibilities:
Key Tasks

  • Lead next generation new product developmentwith out factories and suppliers, from concept to profitable offering
  • Manage brand, channel positioning, and establish pricing strategies
  • Think strategically about categories not currently a part of our portfolio and take appropriate action.
  • Gap Analysis – major initiatives to assess market, product and business opportunities, conduct market research and analysis, evaluate business and profitability potential.
  • Competitive Assessment – obtain and analyze competitor positions, product offerings, markets, and performance.
  • Position Analysis – analyze and evaluate product position, channels, launch, timing, and other factors.
  • Marketing Plans/Launch Plans – develop and implement product plans that achieve market share/profit objectives.
  • Manage Product Life Cycles – manage requirements necessary to execute all phases of the product life cycle from new product proposals to product discontinuance. Analyze product lines for life cycle changes and recommend strategies to affect life cycle conditions. Maintain less than $500k in excess inventory
  • Perform/Execute PDC requirements
  • Responsible for providing technical guidance and direction to Sales, Customer Service and external Customers as it relates to assigned product categories
  • Drive supplier performance improvement in on-time delivery, quality, product cost, inventory and lead-time. Use corrective action process to manage supplier performance and hold suppliers accountable
Qualifications:
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Software Development, or Engineering
  • Thorough understanding of business operations and finance, MBA preferred
  • 7-9 years of experience in a broad range of functions including: product management, engineering design, manufacturing, marketing, supply chain and sales.
  • Knowledge of the major automotive systems function including electrical and OBDII diagnostic troubleshooting methodology. Understanding of industrial tool requirements both domestic and international.
