Day-O-Lite is seeking an Assembly technician to join our growing team in Warwick, RI! We are looking for a candidate who is reliable, punctual, trainable, and open to continuous improvement.This candidate must be able to assemble or fabricate lighting parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a production line in a manufacturing organization.

This is a first shift and full-time position, Mon thru Fri 8 AM to 4:30 PM. From June 1st thru Labor day, Mon thru Fri 7 AM until 3:30 PM. Pay is progressive beginning at 16.06/hr, and up to 19.55/hr, including annual increases.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
• Utilize hand held tools such as a hand held screw and drill gun
• Maintain inventory of product in work stations
• Perform quality work checks as well as measurements with a tape measure and ruler to insure the product meets quality standards
• Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Perform other tasks as necessary
• Must be proficient in English. Must be able to follow directions

• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly

• Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea
• High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
• Basic computer navigation/ utilization skills a plus
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Specific technical or vocational training a plus

Skills/Requirements:

• At least 6 months of manufacturing work experience preferred.
• Ability to use power tools
• Attention to detail
• Read and understand production instructions in English
• Produce quality work at an efficient pace
• Strive for continuous improvement
• Standing required throughout 8 hour workday
• Must lift up to 30lbs
