Summary:
The Production Manager is responsible for all aspects of Safety, Quality, Appearance, Reliability, and Cost of paint mixing and filling operations at the Hurst manufacturing plant.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for all employees and duties related to Paint Mixing, Filling as well as miscellaneous facilities related activities.
Works to achieve Safety, Quality, Appearance, Reliability, and Cost Performance goals.
Lead in efficiency improvements in all Production related processes.
Works collaboratively with the Quality Manager to ensure the highest degree of product quality.
Keeps up to date on all activities in the manufacturing process. Identifies problem areas and takes the proper corrective actions.
Lead initiatives that integrate Lean Manufacturing throughout the plant using continuous improvement tools such as kaizen events, 5-S, standard work definitions, OEE, and value stream mapping with the goal of reducing waste and optimizing value added activities.
Plan and coordinate Lean Manufacturing events within the facility during the Lean implementation by establishing teams, ensuring supplies are available, documenting before and after states, planning celebrations and providing resources for the teams
Drive the planning and review process of the lean transformation of the facility.
Develop the production supervisors, by coaching, teaching and setting expectations.
Assist in the development of a training plan to ensure associates possess the knowledge and skill required to implement and maintain Lean Manufacturing efforts.
Ensure Standard Work is vigorously developed, implemented and sustained.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field with high analytical and operational concentration, and/or at least 5 years' experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles in a manufacturing environment. Lean Certification Training or higher is highly recommended.
Demonstrated ability to understand manufacturing operations within a fast-paced automated environment.
Well-developed ability to use computer and software applications, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office products.
