Responsibilities & Duties:

  • PURPOSE – This job performs the tasks of packaging finished products into containers. Primary duties include packing product from machines into boxes, inspecting products, documenting weights, palletizing boxes, and assisting Machine Operators. Correctly fill out paperwork (Downtime Sheets, HOTS Report, etc).
  • PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Makes up corrugated boxes.
  • Place finished merchandise in boxes.
  • Seals cases with tape gun or tape machine.
  • Labels finished cases with proper identification.
  • Places finished cases on pallets using pre-determined case placements.
  • Monitors machinery for film splices, breakage, and machinery jams and reports them to the Machine Operator immediately. Assists Machine Operator as necessary.
  • Places stickers or other identifying information as requested by a particular customer.
  • Replaces tape in machine.
  • Recognizes quality issues, such as weak seals and eye out registration.
  • Monitors one machine while operator is repairing or setting the other machine up.
  • Monitors merchandise cases to insure proper weight and accurate packaging components.
  • Places damaged product packages into proper containers.
  • Participate in 5S processes , embrace and support Continuous Improvement.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner following Safety Standards, GMP guidelines, and sustaining 5s.
  • Maintain Oscar boards and MUDA waste.
  • Participate and collaborates in meetings.
  • Train others and fills in for other positions as necessary.
  • Fills in for other positions as necessary.
  • Supports the Jacksonville plant FSQ and QRMP initiatives on any and all procedures/programs pertaining to product safety.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Additional responsibilities of this position include assisting in the creation of a culture of safety and health by performing work safely in accordance with all company safety procedures. Operates equipment safely and reports any unsafe work conditions or practice to supervisor. Occupational safety and health performance is measured in this position

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES * Excellent analytical, reasoning, math, and organizational Skills.

  • Minimum of 6 months previous experience in food/beverage manufacturing is desired.
  • Must have a solid understanding of process improvement methods.
  • Computer skills desired.
