Job Description
Our business is rapidly expanding, and we require experienced Program Manager Director to work closely with our business development and sales teams help us execute/deliver on captured new business. We require exceptional individuals who desire to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment. Individuals must be self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to work across cross functional teams and demonstrate leadership and organizational capabilities. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, quick-turnaround, Team-based work environment and have the ability to handle multiple programs, across various geographies, involving multiple partners and customers.
Based in Hawthorne, California, we are expanding our team to focus on key strategic hires, to help focus on our go to market objectives in the U.S. One of our key markets is the space/satellite market represented by constellations of various sizes, in LEO, MEO and GEO orbits for both telecommunications and earth observations applications.
Demand in upcoming years in both commercial and government market verticals requires onboarding of an experienced Program Management professional to execute and successfully deliver customer programs.
Responsibilities:
- Assume leadership role in Customer Program execution / delivery. Take over from deal/sale closure and plan for delivery against requirements and budgets.
- Establish and communicate overall program objectives, mission, vision, and strategy
- Participates in customer meetings to define/refine requirements
- Defines a robust execution plan, including risk management, to deliver results that meet the customer’s needs and drive execution according to your plan
- Maintain fluency on the program contractual requirements, to include technical requirements, deliverables, milestones
- Maintain project schedules, risk analysis, procurement plans, subcontract management plans, project staffing plans, and budgets (direct costs, subcontracts, travel, etc.)
- Submit customer orders into Order Management Systems to ensure procurement of products
- Be diligent on, and document any, change requests (from the customer or supporting organizations) to ensure that appropriate scope or other contractual changes are implemented
- Ensure weekly reconciliation of program status vs. plan
- Report program updates regularly to executive team and our customers
- Track all internal and external deliverables, prepare and present formal and informal design and progress review presentations/documentation
- Lead applicable award fee and/or incentive fee activities to ensure understanding of all success criteria
- Build and manage customer relationships, communication, and advocacy
- Ensure program(s) meet the requirements of the contract – on time and on budget
- Monitor and reporting to senior leadership the progress of your program(s) to meeting their success criteria as well as the progress of each functional element of your assigned product
- Manage programmatic and technical risks – identifying potential issues and problems that could impact program performance
- Resolve issues regarding cost and schedule
Desired Skills/Experience
- Experience system and sub-system integration of Aerospace/Aviation products (hardware, firmware, software)
- Experience in Satellite or Space Programs either U.S Government or Commercial, or European Space
Agency or Commercial Satellite Programs.
- Experience in UAV and or Aircraft/Helicopter communications related programs
- Experience working with suppliers, partners in various geographies
- Experience in the implementation and use of Program Management Best Practices
- Experience developing and managing strong relationships with partners (internal & external) and government customers, commercial customers and representatives
- Experience interfacing with senior and executive leadership, internal and external.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of direct experience in Aerospace and Program Management related to technology products and solutions for commercial, civil and defense customers and agencies in the broader aerospace and satellite communications industries
- B.S. and preferably M.S. in one of the following engineering degrees:
- Aerospace Engineering
- Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering
- Computer Sciences
- Electrical Engineering
- Experience in aerospace/satellite communications industry as a proposal professional for at least 10 years with diversity of experience in large corporate aerospace or technology-driven organizations as well as in small business environments and cultures
- Excellent written, interpersonal, verbal and listening skills. Ability to translate technical language to lay mans terms
- Concept-to-launch experience with one or more satellite or space or aviation programs/missions
- Experience with cost- and budget- constrained programs
- Experience with aerospace environments other than traditional, large prime contractors and agencies
- Experience with Intelligence Community and Department of Defense customer communities of various nations.
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder)
