The Youth Corp Program Manager (Manager) is responsible for developing and implementing the Youth Corps program with a focus on meeting program deliverables as set by the Department of Labor (DOL)and UWGUC leadership. The Manager is responsible for developing, coaching, and supervising staff with a focus on helping them full fill their individual program responsibilities. The Manager will organize, coordinate, and evaluate the overall activities of the Youth Corps program and establish a supportive and welcoming environment for youth and staff. The Manager reports to the Community Impact Director.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Master's degree preferred, Bachelor's plus two years supervising and program management experience required

2. Administrative and organizational and skills

3. Relevant instructional experience preferred

4. Compassionate and supportive of youth facing multiple barriers to success

5. Bilingual - Spanish English

6. 2 year supervision experience

Responsibilities

· Set a nurturing and supportive environment where youth who have experienced trauma and who have multiple barriers to success can learn, thrive and be successful.

· Maintain expert level knowledge of the DOL’s program model and ensure adherence to the requirements across all program components and documentation protocols.

· Implement a web-based program data collection and case management tool.

· Course correct service delivery, when needed, and develop strategies that are specific to meeting the needs of a cohort.

· Complete monthly performance reports and maintain the DOL programmatic reporting system up to date with accurate and complete information.

o Ensure accurate and detailed collection and reporting of data and maintenance of Corpsmember files including adherence to program enrollment and assessment requirements and data collection requirements.

o Prepare monthly reports for the VP of Programs on recruitment, student progress, post program placement, community projects, and overall progress towards meeting deliverables.

· Supervise and coordinate the activities of all staff assigned to the program and advise staff on program structure and activities to support program objectives in adherence with program requirements.

· Establish relationships with community organizations, schools, community centers, and others to recruit youth for the program, identify supportive services, identify life skills providers, secure career readiness/life skills speakers, identify eligible post placement programs, potential community service opportunities and/or employers and:

o maintain on-going liaison with American Job Center to access additional resources and post program placements and to secure AOSOS numbers as required by DOL.

o maintain on-going liaison with the UC Department of Youth to access additional resources and post program placements.

o attend meetings hosted by partner agencies with a focus on leveraging resources and increasing awareness of the program.

o attend job fairs and seek opportunities for youth.

· Develop Memorandums of Agreements, partnership agreements, contracts for all community service sites, consultants, and community partners.

· Conduct bi-weekly team meetings with staff to identify and address problems as they arise, report serious problems to the VP of Programs with suggested solutions.

· In conjunction with staff, monitor each Corpsmembers’:

o attendance and punctuality,

o academic progress towards,

o participation in community service,

o participation in life skills

o progress towards meeting personal and program goals and outcomes

o minimum hours requirements

o post placement

· Establish a recruitment plan that ensures meeting the contracted level of service.

· Lead the orientation of new participants and ensure that the program goals, expected outcomes, behavior expectations, attendance requirements, and overall program model is thoroughly presented, and that youth understand their responsibilities.

· Supervise the development of community service projects ensuring a quality experience for youth.

· Coordinate program completion ceremonies, outings with youth, and other group activities.

· Assist with placement of program participants in programs/work after program completion.

· Supervise the development of lessons, projects, and activities ensuring they meet the needs of the youth and that they are designed to enhance Corpsmembers’ overall professionalism.

· Monitor expenses, make purchases, assist with modifications, and fiscal reporting requirements in compliance with all DOL and UWGUC purchasing procedures.

· Purchase technological equipment necessary for the program and implement procedures to secure the equipment and maintain it in excellent working order.

· Schedule all on and off-site activities.

· Develop and maintain a Resource Board with pertinent information including:

o supportive services

o college/educational programs

o career development opportunities

· Support staff in reviewing referrals from local schools, community-based organizations, and government agencies, including talking with walk-ins all with a focus on encouraging enrollment and program participation.

· Supervise youth during workshops, community service projects, and other program activities as needed.

· Manage program supplies including:

o ensuring computers are charged and in good working condition.

o ordering supplies, paper, and other program materials.

o maintaining all program materials organized and in good working order.

o Maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

· Oversee the attainment of all post placement documentation.

· Call participants during and after/before/weekend program hours to check on their wellbeing, remind them of activities, inquire about absences, etc.

· Coordinate the pickup and drop off participants.

· Oversee the implementation of a bi-weekly participant assessment and ensuring youth understand points of improvement, includes processing stipends.

· Drive youth using the company van to activities as needed.

General Responsibilities

· Maintain a compassionate and caring demeanor when addressing youth and while supporting them through demanding situations.

· Build and maintain excellent rapport with clients.

· Work harmoniously with supervisors, co-workers and persons of varied educational experience, social and economic backgrounds.

· Participate in bi-weekly Corpsmembers evaluations to identify barriers and successes as a team.

· Actively support the recruitment and orientation process for all cohorts.

· Participate in the intake and enrollment processes.

· Attend staff meetings and collaborate with staff to implement the program, address Corpsmembers’ concerns, course improve, and/or to highlight successes.

· Assist with all program activities including, but not limited to, graduation and completion ceremonies, celebratory lunches, and field trips.

· Transport members in the company van to worksites and/or to program activities if necessary.

· Guide and counsel Corpsmembers in NJ Youth Corps program requirements.

· Maintain excellent communication with youth, team members, and external partners.

· Maintain detailed youth files, program schedules, and all program materials/space organized.

· Travel to other campuses and worksites as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
