Program Manager I (Legal Services Coordinator), Grade N23
Job description
- Assessing the needs, issues, and concerns of the immigrant community in Montgomery County who need legal immigration program services and resources.
- Working with the Gilchrist Center to coordinate referrals to legal service providers and services.
- Developing and maintaining close working relationships with County government personnel including Office of Community Partnerships community liaisons and Gilchrist Center staff, and nonprofit legal service providers to ensure effective working relationships, support systems, and information exchange while helping to build the cultural competence of County government personnel.
- Staffing the Montgomery County Legal Service Provider’s Network.
- Managing County’s Citizenship Corners.
- Preparing written documentation for public speaking engagements for the Office of Community Partnerships director, community liaisons and senior staff.
- Providing support to monitor legal service contracts managed by the Office of Community Partnerships.
- Participating in community events to provide outreach on behalf of the Office of Community Partnerships - Gilchrist Center.
- Working with Asian Liaison & Legal Services Manager and Gilchrist Center Manager to work with stakeholders to design and implement education and outreach campaigns for legal, immigration and citizenship services in the County.
- Partnering with the staff at the Gilchrist Center to help ensure that each major region of the county has the full range of citizenship and legal immigration services to thrive in our community.
- Working with Asian Liaison & Legal Services Manager and Latino Liaison to support MCDHHS’ Bienvinedos Newcomer Initiative and organizing resource fairs.
- Serving as point of contact on behalf of Office of Community Partnerships to stakeholders to increase coordination of delivery of services to clients. Stakeholders include legal immigration service providers, nonprofit organizations, government agencies such as Libraries and Montgomery County Public Schools, United States Citizenship & Immigration Services, state and federal representatives, and pro-bono attorney networks.
- Gather, compile and present data to senior staff regarding effectiveness of service delivery provided through Gilchrist Center and legal service providers.
