Job Summary
Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion seeks to hire a Program Manager for the Utah Presidential Leadership Fellows, a collaboration between the University of Utah, Weber State University, Salt Lake Community College, and Utah State University. The position will begin September 2022 and oversee the programmatic and administrative aspects of the Fellowship. This will be a unique opportunity to assist these institutions in their goal to increase the number of academic leaders with training in the humanities and arts, particularly from underrepresented faculty groups.

Responsibilities
The selected candidate will assist with a variety of duties related to the Presidential Leadership Fellows, a set of events, meetings, opportunities, programming, and marketing that has been seeded by the Mellon Foundation. Such duties may include (but shall not be limited to):
- Work with EDI marketing and communications team to develop advertising materials to attract faculty at the four institutions
- Work with leaders at each institution to ensure an equity-centered selection process for the Fellows
- Under direction of Vice President Villarreal, and with significant input from all four university presidents, implementing an annual schedule of events that will include two gatherings, multiple online learning sessions, and opportunities to network and learn from more senior scholars
- Work with the appropriate staff to oversee the administrative aspects of the program, including payments to the fellows, reimbursements, and event planning
- Coordinate communication among the fellows, their mentors, experts in the field, and the four presidents
- Work with New Leadership Academy team to create a “playbook” of materials, including lessons learned from the fellowship, to facilitate other colleges and universities in their creation of a similar program

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related area of assignment or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). Four years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of assigned department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department.
Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.
To meet minimum qualifications, applicants may substitute 1 year of education for 2 years experience or substitute 2 years of experience for 1 year of education.
