If so, we 're looking for someone like you to join our team! We are seeking a Senior Program Security Representative (PSR) to help us provide the lab’s Space Exploration Sector (SES) and its customers with the best special and compartmented program security support.

As a Program Security Representative (PSR), you will...
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the Space Exploration Sector (SES) and National Security Space Mission Area (NSS) and APL’s Security Service Department (SECD), as a dedicated forward deployed security professional working with Sector and Security Leadership to facilitate security strategy and operations for NSS programs
  • Be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction by establishing and maintaining positive relationships with executives and senior leadership within SES
  • Gain a strong understanding of SES/NSS short- and long-term priorities and strategic initiatives as well as the NSS Sponsor base and their security operations
  • Establish security metrics to actively track and ensure security services are being appropriately provided to NSS programs.
  • Be assigned as a member of our Program Security Group (ZPG) within the Security Services Department (SECD) of the lab. This role will embed within NSS programs through the entirety of program lifecycle, ensuring appropriate security processes, resources and services are identified and allocated to ensure program success
  • Communicate with all levels of leadership within SES regarding upcoming security initiatives, implementations and service enhancements to gather feedback about the unique aspects and security needs of SES from both NSS program management and SES staff working NSS programs
  • Regularly brief SES and SES leadership on the status of customer satisfaction, owning and resolving any issues that may be adversely impacting satisfaction

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
  • Possess 8+ years of relevant security experience (CPSO/CSSO/SSR/PSR or DoD Intel) and have an in-depth understanding of advanced security principles and government special security regulations (i.e. SAP, OPSEC, DCID, NISPOM, DoD Manual 07, Vols I - IV, ICD 705, JSIG, or RMF).
  • Areabletodevelopandexecutesecuritypolicy,plansand
  • Have excellent organizational/communications skills and the ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels
  • Are able to maintain appropriate relationships between leadership in security department as well as the principals in the supported organization.
  • Have Project management experience, leading teams of people through complex and challenging security projects
  • Possess strong customer relationship skills
  • Have domain expertise working with G3 and USSF/AF as a program security professional
  • Have at least 10 years of experience performing program security responsibilities
  • Hold an active Top Secret security clearance and can ultimately obtain a TS/SCI level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
  • Can demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.   • Have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Criminal Justice / Security Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Possess direct experience working as a compartmented and/or special program security officer
  • Have a thorough understanding of DoD organization structures
  • Are experienced working in an organization with reporting responsibilities to multiple sponsors / authorities.
  • Have some experience working with information systems.
