Overview:
TRIDENT Training Facility (TTF) Support Team is searching for a highly motivated, dedicated individual to join our specialized group focused on providing the highest quality assistance to the Navy School Command in support of our submarine crews
Responsibilities Include:
- On-site support performing planning and implementation of Columbia Trainer installations at TTF.
- Periodic support of Columbia Class Ship Control System development and testing.
- Support periodic meetings with NAVSEA, NSWCCD, CARDEROCK and other EB department personnel.
- Development of inputs to new and existing ILS documentation: Component Technical Manuals, Ship System Manuals, Test Procedures, Maintenance Procedures, etc.
- Provide support for existing trainer life cycle support, including modifications and upgrade installations.
- Provide expertise on HM&E equipment and Ship Control issues in support of maintenance activities.
- Development of solutions to obsolescence issues within the existing school house training system.
- Candidate must be detail oriented and have the ability to work in a team environment or totally independently. This position requires excellent written and communication skills, briefing various levels of supervisor within the US Navy, DOD, and Electric Boat.
- The position will require assisting with job planning, scheduling, component repairs, troubleshooting, and testing of existing or new design/upgraded equipment. Including possible short term repairs as well as engineering, testing, and implementing design upgrades to improve system and trainer performance.
- The position requires a high level of knowledge and is responsible for contributing to the Life cycle support plan of submarine learning facilities.
- Some travel required.
Required:
- 8-12 years of Navy Submarine experience, or combination of Submarine related schoolhouse experience.
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Ability to travel to training facilities to support planning and implementation of Columbia Trainer installations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Experience with various engineering drawings, NAVSEA Technical Manuals, and Curriculum Development.
- Internal candidates must be from organizations outside of Operations (Gildart/Gabriel).
Preferred:
- Previous experience as a Navy instructor.
- Experience working with and communicating with all levels of US Navy and DOD personnel
- Possess a team attitude with willingness and capability to work well with other team members and organizations within Electric Boat
- A self-starter, able to persevere and complete work accurately in a schedule driven environment.
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written skills
- Willing and able to work in office, trainer, and production environments.
- Excellent work ethic and genuine desire to take pride in ownership and "own the system"
- Computer literate; MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and ATIS.
