Summary:

Strategic Prevention Partnership’s (SPP) No Wrong Door (NWD) Initiative is a coordinated, interagency Behavioral Health System of Care that seeks to deliver timely, high quality, cost-effective, evidence based mental health and substance use care to individuals and families in Newport County. This coordinated network of person-centered service and support create a pathway to care for children, adults, & families struggling with unmet behavioral health and healthcare needs. NWD is a wraparound approach to care which aims to reduce disparity in health access, improve delivery and outcomes, and ensure that those at risk are identified and connected to coordinated health and behavioral health services.


Newport Mental Health in partnership with SPP is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the implementation of No Wrong Door’s identified strategies. The successful candidate will have a background in behavioral health administration and possess familiarity with behavioral health best practices and the ability to take an active, dynamic approach to community prevention and capacity building. The PD will seek to engage community partners within the health, behavioral health and prevention field and coordinate the services provided through a holistic, community-based system of care approach.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the facilitation and further development of project strategies, identification of project components and issues, tracking and overall management of project plan;
  • Manage Children and Adult Community Care Teams to ensure appropriate, timely outcomes for individuals and families with complex behavioral health and medical needs;
  • Develop processes, procedures, workflows and monitoring mechanisms to ensure grant and program tasks and deliverables are completed in a timely and consistent manner as outlined in the NWD Scope of work and in coordination with the SPP Executive Director, No Wrong Door Coordinator, and the Newport Mental Health Chief Clinical Officer.
  • Assist in data collection to assess community needs/resources relative to mental health and substance use disorders; write written reports; inform stakeholders
  • Create monthly written management and grant reports which communicate data narrative of program progress toward strategic goals and to support grant and partnership deliverables.
  • Assist in developing a plan to assist in seeking funds for project expansion and sustainability.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, group process/facilitation; conflict resolution experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a flexible schedule
  • Must be able to travel throughout Newport County; providing own transportation
  • Possesses the values and principals of Person Centered/Recovery Approach to care
  • Experience with Wraparound Principles (Wraparound Milwaukee/Kaleidoscope) or other service & system integration or collective impact initiatives.


Other Duties:

  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager
  • Attend trainings and meetings as assigned
  • Adhere to safety policies including participation in fire/disaster drills


Education and experience:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Public Health or similar with minimum of five years of experience in behavioral health field
  • Minimum of 2 years of senior behavioral health administrative experience
