Job description
The National Pork Board is searching for a talented Project Manager to coordinate and execute research related project work using project management principles. This position, reporting to the Director of Project Management, ensures effective cross-functional communication within and outside the organization to support the strategic mission and objectives.
Duties may include:
- Collaborating with NPB staff on funded research projects
- Ensuring NPB staff are maintaining time and scope of Request for Proposals and Proposal Reviews
- Effectively communicating and collaborating with research organizations’ grants management staff regarding proposals, contracts, and required reporting
- Generating research contracts on individual research projects
- Collaborating with Director of Operations to navigate contract changes and execution of research contracts
- Proper handling and maintaining records of communication with grant related contacts & accounts
- Coordinating research needs for the Swine Health Information Center and State Pork Associations
- Providing subject matter expertise in project management, change management, and process improvement
- Communicating the status of assigned projects and task forces with key internal and external stakeholders
- 1+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or similar role
- 1+ years of experience leading cross functional teams
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of formal education, training and directly related job experience. Academic emphasis in Project Management, Ag Studies, Animal Science or Ag Business would be acceptable.
- Experience with enterprise platforms such as SalesForce, Dynamics, NetSuite or SAP
- CAPM or PMP certifications preferred.
