The University of Missouri Health Care (MU Health Care) located in Columbia, Missouri, is seeking an empathetic Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse (RN) for mid-Missouri’s only academic health system. Being a MU Health Care Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse requires compassion, sensitivity, exceptional communication, and relationship-building skills. It requires someone who can see the human being in everyone and know that a person isn't defined by their mental health condition.

Schedule: Full-time, various shift openings
Work location: Missouri Psychiatric Center at MU Health Care, Columbia, MO 65212
Salary: $29.85/hour - $48.27/hour
- $3/hour premium pay for all shifts
- $4/hour night shift differential
- $3/hour weekend shift differential
- $2.75/hour evening shift differential

The
successful candidate will practice autonomously and be responsible and accountable for safe, compassionate, person-centered, evidence-based nursing that respects and maintains dignity and human rights. They must show professionalism and integrity and work within recognized professional, ethical, and legal frameworks. This role is responsible for assessing patients' mental and physical health, developing treatment plans, and consulting with providers and other mental health professionals.
Qualifications:
- Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When the primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under the new state of residency within thirty (30) days.
- One (1) year of acute care and/or operating room RN experience.
