The Psychometrist would be responsible for administering, recording, and scoring neuropsychological tests, conducting brief initial interviews with patients/guardians, writing behavioral descriptions and chart notes, completing forms and collaborating with faculty members. The tests measure a wide range of cognitive functions and include tests of intelligence, learning and memory, language skills, perceptual-motor skills, executive functions, abstraction, psychomotor performance, vigilance/reaction time and objective personality tests for any age group.
Psychometrist Overview
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Adapts administration of test to the specific needs of each patient while staying within the standardized procedures set forth for each specific test
- Administers and scores a variety of psychological and neuropsychological tests under the supervision of a clinical neuropsychologist
- Tests are accurately and carefully compiled with appropriate behavioral observations noted for use by a neuropsychologist in the interpretation
- Completes paperwork, generating a written summary of patient’s behavior during testing
- Organization and ordering/maintenance of test materials are also duties of the psychometrist
- Compiles data for clinical and research purposes.
- Enters test data accurately into relevant database(s)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Psychology
- Psychology experience of some kind with proven ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Experience administering, recording, and scoring psychological tests.
- Basic measurement and digital literacy and strong observation, reading and writing skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Child Development or related field
- Previous experience as a psychometrist
- Familiarity with psychological tests, such as the WAIS-IV, WMS, and others
