Please note: this opportunity is mostly remote; will occasionally go on-site at our Parnassus campus.
  • Facilitates and supports own and other special program events
    • Hosts CDE events
    • Engages speakers, including negotiating contracts, arranging for accommodations, travel and honoraria payments and ensuring compliance with applicable University policies
    • Arranges for CDE classroom support (e.g., staff, student help), ensuring compliance with personnel, payroll and accounting policies
    • Selects meeting venues and provides for all related needs (e.g., AV needs, liaison for facilities, preparing course materials and handouts, CDE program arrangements including meals and accommodations, interaction and contracts with vendors)
    • Manages registration, including taking cash and credit card payments and making timely deposits in compliance with accounting policies
    • Collects CDE credit verification forms and certificates distribution
    • Manage department CDE offerings, preceptorship applications and other special arrangements
  • Participates in developing strategic market plans and target audiences.
  • Recruits, selects, orients, evaluates and supervises qualified course and program instructors.
  • Preceptorship/Fellowship programs for AEGD, Perio, Endo, Cranifacial Ortho, and Ortho
    • Sends applications for program directors to review
    • Schedules interviews, works with international student and scholars’ office for visas, ensures candidates meet COVID protocols, enters into PC, onboarding if they are in-person
  • Tracks student or participant performance and course desirability.
    • Manages program files and data, which may include individual learner files as well as program accreditation documentation in accordance with relevant regulatory and University policies.
    • Creates reports to ensure accuracy and completeness of data
  • May serve as a work leader.
    • Serves as a liaison between all relevant stakeholders, which may include course chairs, program directors, department chairs, contractors, department administration, faculty, and learners.

Department Description

UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.

Required Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of functional area and understanding of how work may impact other areas.
  • Thorough analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of and skill in delivering programs.
  • Skill in using business software systems in the completion of work assignments; i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of organization policies and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of current public educational programs and trends.
  • Thorough skills to conduct needs assessment and development of new presentations / courses to meet organizational needs
  • Knowledge of managing a portfolio of business and management courses at the university or corporate level.
  • Continuing education in related field
