Job Summary:

CNPC USA is actively seeking creative, innovative, best-in-class experts to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity for a Quality Inspector. The Quality Inspector is responsible for maintaining quality standards by approving incoming materials in-process production of finished products and recording quality results. The Quality Inspector will perform the daily QA/QC responsibilities of specific projects to ensure the project documentation is consistent and in accordance with the established minimum standards. The Quality inspector will assist with creating, implementing, and maintaining the quality management system and corrective action request system.

This position will report to the Manufacturing Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Qualifies vendors and conducts onsite inspections and audits.
  • Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Conducts all business activities in agreement with CNPC USA core values.
  • Creates and implements procedures to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency
  • Creates and implements corrective action requests
  • Ensures compliance with established industry best practices


Key Skills:

  • Proven ability to deliver results on time, on target with quality and sustainability
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently when necessary
  • Experienced in the inspection of downhole tools.
  • Experience with quality inspections, testing, and technical documentation
  • Experience in vendor management and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Experience in a minimum of one of our four major product offerings: completions, drilling, drilling measurement or chemicals
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, material test reports, and quality plans
  • Experienced with portable CMM’s, standard inspection tools, optical comparators, PMI testers, UT gauges, etc.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001 2015 standards and processes


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or related field.

5-10 years of experience in manufacturing and inspections

Must be eligible to work in the United States of America


Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.


Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions.


The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Travel:

This position may require overnight international and domestic travel. Local travel between other CNPC USA locations and vendors is required.


Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
