Purpose

Responsible for inspecting facilities and operations to determine cleanliness, program compliance, and adherence to contractual obligations. Primary responsibility is to the buildings on the UT Main Campus and the Pickle Research Center (PRC) that receive contracted cleaning services. This position will conduct in-house audits based on criteria developed by the department. Leadership in Educational Facilities (APPA) and Operating System 1 (OS1). Occasional travel will be required for training purposes. Hiring decision contingent upon applicant clearing a security background check and receiving an acceptable driver's rating.

Responsibilities

• Achieve quality assurance objectives by providing information and analysis via cleaning inspections and reviews.
• Accurately judge cleanliness. Use computer-based software to document evidence and develop/update quality assurance procedures.
• Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends. Provide on-the-job retraining to (OS1) employees.
• Maintain and improve quality of cleaning by completing APPA or (OS1) based audits.
• Maintain appropriate communication with department and contract management staff. Pursue corrective actions as necessary. Provide excellent customer service to staff and building occupants.

Required qualifications

High school diploma or GED. Familiar with (OS1) and APPA standards of cleanliness. Experience in quality assurance and quality inspections. Possess effective organizational skills, attention to detail, thoroughness, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated customer service and communication skills. Ability to accept supervision and work both as a team member and independently. Ability to analyze information and deal with complexity. Requires a moderate degree of independent judgment and decision-making. Demonstrated willingness to learn new job specific processes. Ability to provide on-the-job remedial training to address specific issues. Proficient in computer-based software such as Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Ability to create reports and presentations for department leadership to aid in decision making. Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Extensive experience in the OS1 Cleaning Program and familiar with work loading and process compliance. Five years or more experience in quality assurance. Project management proficiency. Demonstrated excellent communication and people skills. Work effectively in teams and as an individual contributor. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively. Professional demeanor. Proficiency in multiple languages such as English, Spanish, ASL, French, Swahili, Kinyarwanda and Vietnamese.

Driving Required

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three-year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).
