Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Shift Details: Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-12:00am
Pay: $20/hr. with 0.50 Shift Differential
Some weekends and overtime as required. Available to change shift.
Position Summary: Perform duties to monitor the quality of production and raw materials throughout the plant to ensure compliance with GMPs, SSOPs, SQF and HACCP.
- Monitor production.
- Inspect raw ingredients, which involves using testing tools (ex: thermometer).
- Interface with USDA, FSA and other government agencies regarding testing procedures and records.
- Understanding the HACCP/FDA/SQF Plans.
- Record keeping
- Experience with completion of HACCP & QA Documentation daily
- Pre-Operational/Operational Forms
- Ensure FDA Documentation is Completed for change overs.
- Receiving raw and packaging materials
- Understanding of a Retention Program
- Make sure lot numbers are correct on finished products.
- Ability to complete Swab Procedure
- Equipment settings
- Inventory control and rotation Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices, Preventive Controls, HACCP, and SQF.
- Metal detector Documentation
- Ensure and monitor build weights.
- Make certain finished product weights are being met.
- HACCP certified (In-House)
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Able to stand, stoop, bend, and crouch on a regular basis to check equipment or supplies in low-lying areas.
- Must be able to stand for up to 8+ hours, while working with and around machinery.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work in variable temperatures to include frigid/humid environments.
- Must be able to lift (above shoulder) up to 40 pounds frequently.
- Must be able to push (waist or shoulder level) up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to pull (waist or shoulder level) up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Education:
- 1-3 years’ experience as Quality Control Technician.
- 3-5 years of manufacturing experience
- Understanding and implementing quality and safety programs USDA manufacturing experience preferred
- General food manufacturing experience acceptable.
- Ability to sustain a culture of safety, focused on team members health and well-being.
- Ability to communicate and connect with team members, bilingual preferred.
- Learner mindset with necessary communication skills to work effectively in a matrix organization.
