You will promote a culture of operational excellence and teamwork that embraces fun, respect, safety, quality, integrity, accountability, corrective action, and continuous improvement, to deliver exceptional customer service and performance. Using your strong attention to detail & relationship with the line operators, you will ensure that materials scheduled for the production, slitting & shipping process are in compliance to standards and ensure required processes, panels/retains for warranty and testing are followed and provided. You will be responsible for various in-house quality control audit checks & testing methods. Using your strong organizational skills, you will maintain color standard files and monitor instruments and calibration schedules along with changing and filing all charts where applicable. You will also monitor coating film thickness & conversion coating weights during production. Additional responsibilities will include:

• Collaboration & communication with other departments of the plant as it pertains to quality
• Collect & record data
• Daily spot check quality of production, shipments & wet section
• Point of contact for plant customers
• Perform various tests to ensure specifications are being met
• Oversee the work of employees tank and pit cleaning
• Assist with coil hold dispositions & coil hold inventories
• Secure photos and samples for customers as requested
• Schedule and meet with Mill vendors to review Hold inventory and achieve disposition
• Review QC pending coils in system
• Assist in customer coil and Precoat inventories
• Assist in the yield activity and report outs on overall yield

The successful candidate will bring 2+ years of experience in a quality role with a strong preference in the steel, coating or manufacturing industry and degree in engineering or related field. You will bring the following:

• Able to work various shifts in a plant environment.
