Provide direction as well as hands on design of products through GF's gate process. This position will also be responsible for delivering high-quality 3D product models, research and development support, production support and handling major engineering projects. Assist in sustainable throughput improvements with reduction in scrap rate. Design projects to standardize Equipment, Materials and Process and implement and maintain high quality documentation on processes and procedures

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Use sound engineering knowledge to create / engineer solutions to provided design specifications
• Liaise with manufacturing on design manufacturability and cost optimization
• Contribute to project planning and lead smaller scale internal projects
• Complete design qualification and validation of new products, materials and vendors
• Perform necessary experiments to test and validate product design
• Support and assist in the improvement of internal engineering practices, standard and procedures for the engineering tasks performed in the department.
• Analyze data producing clear, detailed reports for use across disciplines
• Participate in design reviews, technical reviews and program meetings ensuring that engineering knowledge is being shared and considered

Experience/Education:

• Bachelor's and Master's degree in Mechanical Systems Engineering, or related fields of Engineering
• 2+ years of proven experience in a similar role
• Takes direction and feedback well and then acts independently
• Strong interpersonal skills needed
• Effectively interacts with others
• Core knowledge of Mechanical fundamentals
• Strong analytical skills required
• Ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines
