A day in the life (just a few of the things you may do on any given day):

  • Maintain, program and operate the Motorola Trunked Radio Network in the National Capital Region (NCR) and LMR system deployed in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area. This includes Motorola G Series Equipment, MCC 7500 dispatch consoles, Motorola Key Management Facilities (KMF), and Motorola subscriber equipment and Motorola base stations.
  • Provide monitoring and maintenance for the Motorola Trunked Radio Network infrastructure and associated network equipment located in the system operations and control center (SYSOC)
  • Provide installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of connectivity equipment for the NCR Motorola Trunked Radio Network and monitor the system for outages, initiate repair services, and provide notification of system of outages.

  • Provide subscriber programming services to Motorola Trunked Radio Network users when requested and maintain the NCR Zone baseline code plug for all supported subscriber devices.
  • Provide Motorola Network Management Terminal (NMT) database services to stakeholder agencies when requested and provide MCC 7500 console database management services.
  • Coordinate SYSOC Activities to include scheduling, software/hardware updates, policy and procedure development, information assurance activities, prioritization/planning, weekly system database backups and weekly reporting.
  • Maintain Active Directory Management - activation, account creation, policy permission settings, deactivation, password resets, and user support for all user accounts.
  • Maintain and manage Unified Event Manager (UEM), Unified Network Configurator (UNC), Provisioning Manager, Affiliation Manager, and Zone Watch.
  • Provide network monitoring and troubleshooting of systems; analyze system health, Regional Network Manager (RNM) Applications, and connectivity, as well as Network Maintenance to include Shared User Management System (SUMS) updates, file configuration, and database backups.
  • Provide Service Area Technician - all site maintenance and repairs; system level troubleshooting, replacement of faulty components, including generator maintenance coordinator, circuit restoration, inventory maintenance, return tracking materials, and vendor escorts.
  • Provide Engineering Liaison - coordinates engineering efforts for new site and console additions; and may assist with site surveys as needed.

What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):

  • 5+ years of related experience. Preferred experience working with Motorola radio subscriber radios and equipment
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, electronics theory, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, and training
  • Top Secret Security clearance
