Summary

The Warehouse Reach Operator contributes to meeting Langham goals of exceptional customer service, quality, process improvement, and profitability by ensuring that all shipments going to our client's customers leave the warehouse correctly without damage or poor packaging.

Warehouse Reach Operators may work a variety of shifts and may be asked to work overtime as customer needs fluctuate. Additionally, Warehouse Reach Operators may be assigned to assist with other departments in the warehouse from time to time as needs change. These duties may include hand picking and packing, operating various Reach equipment, sealing and/or banding shipments, quality control, performing cycle counts, housekeeping, etc.

All Warehouse Reach Operators are expected to operate according to all safety and security guidelines. Any Warehouse Associate who operates any of our Reach equipment must be certified by Langham.

Evaluation of performance

Performance will be evaluated based on meeting the requirements of the job description; meeting performance metrics and other quality indicators established for this position; working according to specifications, policies, and standards established by Langham; working effectively in a team environment; and providing a high level of internal and external customer service.

Performance metrics for this position will be established annually based on: Quality: error rates in receiving and putting away; productivity, absenteeism.

All Warehouse Associates, regardless of assigned area or duties, are expected to:
Operate all equipment, machinery, Reach s, etc., in an efficient, safe, and productive manner;
Work according to customer orders and specifications;
Meet established quality and productivity metrics;
Make daily checks and provide basic maintenance on machines as assigned;
Keep work areas neat and clean.
Work as part of a team, assist others when needed.

Warehouse Reach Operators will perform any and/or all of the duties listed below: Load freight onto outbound trailers/containers:

• When driver arrives, confirm that appointment is scheduled.
• If not scheduled, alert Team Lead or Supervisor.
• If scheduled, have driver sign log and assign dock door.
• Show the drivers to the freight and BOL(s) and verify pallet counts.
• If Langham's customer requires piece count, ensure driver counts and notes piece counts on BOLs.
• Physically check freight against BOLs.
• Identify and correct any discrepancies between paperwork and physical product to load.
• Ensure accuracy by loading the correct number of pallets onto the correct trailers/containers.
• Once freight is loaded, the BOLs must be signed by the loader.
• Signed BOLs are turned into the DC Office for further processing.

Experience, education, degrees, licenses

High school diploma or GED required.
Reach drivers must be able to pass Reach certification training.

Physical demands

Must be able to operate a variety of equipment: stand up Reach , sit down Reach , swing reach, order picker.

Physical movements including standing, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 75 pounds as part of daily work routine. Will be working on concrete in a warehouse environment (subject to heat and cold).

Must be able to operate computer equipment.

Work environment

Work is performed in a warehouse environment subject to temperature variances.
