RECORDS COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST

RECORDS BUREAU

DEER LODGE, MT

This position is assigned to the MT DOC Records Department, which provides expertise, oversight and practical service to secure care and Probation & Parole. There are approximately 700 employees supported by this Team.

This position specifically will evaluate compliance status, complaints, and suspected violations. Review industry-specific rules, regulations, and statutes to determine if the entity or individual complies with requirements, the nature of any violations or discrepancies, or the type of action to be taken. Prepare reports, notice, submissions, or recommendations about findings. Follow up with managers or entities regarding corrections and recommended actions addressing violations or new requirements.

Assist with developing rules regulations, policies, or procedures. Advise individuals and groups concerning regulations, inspection, and investigation findings; encourage voluntary action to correct problems. Confer with officials and technical or professional specialists. Interview individuals to obtain information or clarify facts. Interpret governmental regulations for individuals and employers. Review contracts, federal regulations, or binding program requirements to determine an entity’s actions required to meet governmental provisions.

QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field. Two years of directly related work experience. Other combinations of education or experience may be substituted.
