Regional Operations Manager
East Region Supporting - Eastern Wisconsin and Chicago Markets
The role of a regional operations manager is to oversee management of the Viking Electric distribution network including central distribution centers, regional distribution centers and stores, consistent with Viking Electric's operations and logistics standards, processes, and service commitments.
By being a regular presence at the locations they support, regional operations managers drive operations consistency in established performance metrics through process alignment and manager performance oversight.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in the management, hiring, training, and development of Central, Regional, and Assistant Operations Managers.
- Oversight of regional operations location performance including staffing, customer service, associate development, transportation, safety, material handling, and quality.
- Provide support for location level inventory control procedures and physical Inventory management, including, cycle counting, physical inventories, material on hand balance loss management, and product damage oversight.
- Assist local Operations Managers in the design and layout of warehouse racking systems and material movement strategies that support quality initiatives.

- Strong managerial & leadership skills, ability to motivate team and manage conflict
- Strategic planning capabilities
- Strong organizational skills and able to prioritize and delegate multiple tasks
- Strong communication, sales, and customer service skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point), Email & Internet Use
- Excellent written, verbal, and training/presentation skills including familiarity with reporting, presentation, and file management software.
- Experience/knowledge of warehousing practices, equipment, and machines
- Ability to collaborate across multi-functional departments
- Strong reasoning, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret, understand & enforce policy and procedures and relate them to others
General Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license, significant travel expectation
Required Experience
- Experience in high volume warehousing and logistics environment preferred.
- Five years management experience preferred.
- Sales/customer service experience such as city desk/counter sales preferred.
- Knowledge of VE’s systems, processes, products, and market knowledge preferred.
