Position Purpose:

Solicit, Manage, and maintain relationships with key accounts in assigned new and emerging markets/states to secure new bookings and re-bookings of past customers and annual groups. The outcome of this position and these abilities will ensure all revenue goals, based on budgets, are achieved and/or exceeded.

Essential Functions:

(Average Percent of Time)

80% Achieve/exceed all activity goals including solicitation in new and emerging markets outside of our core market/states in order to maintain a healthy pipeline needed so all individual revenue goals are met. This includes keeping current quarterly plans and actions to best support growing your client base needed to achieve said annual goals.

10% Prepare information for, meet with and entertain clients as deemed appropriate by potential business from that account.

5% Move throughout property to conduct site inspections. Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both oral and in written form to previous, current and potential clients.

5% Travel to designated markets to meet with clients and manage client presentations to secure business for the hotel.

Represent hotel at trade shows as specified by the Hotel trade show attendance calendar. Set up exhibits involving bending, stooping, lifting, and reading overhead.

Secure appropriate clients for and attend group FAM trips throughout the year with the purpose of showcasing the hotel and services to potential future groups.

Manage all account files and ensure closings are complete and accurately documented. Coordinate various departments’ participation in servicing accounts.

Supportive Functions:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

· Assist the supportive staff with the maintenance of sales files and other office duties.

· Other duties as assigned such as ordering amenities for meeting planners or VIP’s.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

· Knowledge of a hotel structure and how all departments interact.

· Basic mathematical and calculator skills to prepare cost proposals.

· Ability to effectively communicate with costumers in a friendly and positive manner, in order to solicit business, meet client needs and resolve complaints.

· Ability to move throughout the hotel to conduct site inspections.

· Travel throughout year to specific geographic assigned territory and industry events

· Ability to listen, speak and write English to ascertain and respond to client needs.

· Salesforce Delphi FDC and Microsoft Office Suite preferred

Qualification Standards:

Education:

Four-year college degree preferred, however, any combination of education and training within hotel sales may also be considered.

Experience:

2 years previous hotel sales experience required. Hilton Hotels experience, preferred.

Licenses or certificates:

None required.

Grooming:

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
