Job description
The Clinic Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing services in a primary care clinic, ensuring the compassionate, effective, and efficient delivery of high-quality clinical care for patients.
Duties
- Registered Nurse, licensed in the state of NM.
- Coordinate and supervise the activities of clinical team members engaged in clinical care for patients under the supervision of a provider for diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention.
- Organize and assign duties and tasks to clinical staff.
- Assist medical assistants, nurses, and providers as needed by returning patient calls and completing provider orders such as medication refills, performing venipunctures and finger sticks, completing laboratory forms, and performing other tests such as a urinalysis, strep test, EKG, vision screening, pulse oximetry, etc.
- Assist with or conduct periodic staff meetings with clinical team members.
- Attend clinical meetings and relay pertinent information to clinical team members.
- Maintain certification or licensure. Maintain CPR certification.
- Serve as a backup for clinical team members by working as a provider’s primary assistant due to staffing needs, including vacations, illnesses, etc.
- Process prescription refills.
- Ensure all office and clinical areas remain in good working order; ensure crash cart remains up to date and operating appropriately.
- Attend periodic training sessions and meetings pertinent to the position.
- Maintain excellent communication and effective working relationships with patients, providers, clinical and administrative team members within Sunrise Clinics, the public, and the medical community outside Sunrise Clinics for continuity of high-quality patient care.
- Ensure timely closing of charts.
- Assist with prior authorizations and referrals.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Exceptional Customer Service.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially with diverse audiences and settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience working with multiple software applications, including eCW and Google Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
- Demonstrated understanding of the need for patient confidentiality in a HIPAA-compliant environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00 - $36.00 per hour
