JFK Memorial Hospital has provided medical care to residents in the Coachella Valley since 1966. A group of physicians, including Dr. Reynaldo Carreon, founded the hospital and today one of JFK’s cross streets is named in his honor.

Registered Nurse II Kennedy Unit Full Time Nights

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

• The professional nurse on the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) uses the nursing process to plan, implement, evaluate and document patient care. The professional nurse considers the patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, language barriers, age, teaching needs, and readiness to learn.
  
• The professional nurse demonstrates knowledge of EKG monitoring and treatment of hypotension and dysrhythmias.
  
• The professional nurse demonstrates knowledge of commonly used medications and possesses skill in calculating medications and fluid dosages.
  
• The professional nurse follows the hospital chest pain protocol.
• The professional nurse demonstrates knowledge of physiologic changes and common complications associated with specific disease states.
  
• The professional nurse involves the interdisciplinary team in the plan of care and patient intervention.
  
• The RN II uses an autonomous practice.
  
• The RN II independently anticipates professional responsibilities and accepts accountability for professional actions.
  
• The RN II uses critical thinking skills in daily practice.
  
• The RN II participates in departmental Performance Improvement activities and monitoring as requested.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• California RN License
• Successful mastery of nursing skills and knowledge related to a RN I position
• CPR
• Basic Computer Skills

Pay range: $1.00 - $100.00

Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
