Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse
Logan, UT
Looking for a motivated and forward thinking Licensed Practical Nurse to join our nursing department! We are searching for someone to take our nursing department to the next level and provide quality care to our clients.
Logan River Academy is a residential treatment center and fully accredited school for adolescent youth from ages 12-18. We help students struggling with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues including: autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, oppositional behavior, bipolar disorder, borderline issues, PTSD, substance abuse, depression, ADHD, anger management, self-esteem, family relationships, communication, or other setbacks in their life. Our mission is to provide support and structure to help these students make good choices, be successful, and receive the academic and therapeutic help that they may need. The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic, a self starter, and have a resilient personality.
- This is a part time position, with starting pay range at $20 per hour!! - pay is flexible based on experience!
You may be right for the position if you will:
- Demonstrate the understanding of physical, emotional, cultural, religious and psychosocial needs of patients
- Assist in providing a safe, therapeutic environment for all patients
- Demonstrates knowledge of Nursing Department philosophy, and assumes responsibility for maintaining Standards of Nursing Practice and Standards of Care for all patients
- Work without direct supervision, but seek supervision from immediate supervisor for complex issues that arise
- Serve as a role model for patients to observe and learn more socially effective values, attitudes and behaviors when interacting.
The Essential functions for the Licensed Practical Nurse include the following
- Administer daily medications appropriately and document all data accurately according to facility policy. Assist in medication management and training.
- Professionally collaborates with all staff members and departments to facilitate coordinated contribution to patient care without bias.
- Participates and attends treatment team and other meetings as needed.
- Ensure patients receive care as per physician orders. Communicate with primary care physicians, dentists, etc to ensure each student receives care regularly and as needed.
- Participates in the development of patient's problem solving abilities.
- Intervenes in medical emergencies with communicating proper steps and procedures to ensure safety. May include proper notification of administration, physicians, primary therapist, and family when needed
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support program and student needs.
Required Experience/Additional Information:
- Current Licensed in the State of Utah
- At least 2 years experience in the nursing field is preferred. Experience in mental health field is a plus!
- Ability to pass FBI Background Check
- Valid State Drivers license required
- Must be at least 20 years of age

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
