Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with prior experience working in a substance abuse center with substance abuse clients. Licensed registered nurse in the state of North Carolina.

• Incumbent may be required to meet approval criteria set by the Bureau of Prisons.
• All licensing must remain current as a means of continual employment.
• An acceptable TB screening results completed within the previous nine months.
• Valid NC driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
• Must be available to work at various locations, as needed.
• Timely and regular attendance is an essential job function of this position.

Position Summary:

• Provides basic nursing care for substance abuse clients on all of the ADS programs.
• Complete client assessments, weekly nursing notes, exception nursing notes and medical records. Complete SALS, order entry, order cosign, eMDS, order extensions, dosing increases, dosing decreases and guest dosing. Complete daily dosing reports and narcotic logs, ROI consents and record requests. Confirm with hospital pharmacy with (when) clients return to clinic after in-patient treatment. Perform chart audits and medication counts.
• Provide medication administration on a rotational schedule. Available to work on weekends and holidays. Administer take homes and call backs.
• Perform physical preps when requested, blood work and TB testing. Complete randomization of UDS, client EKGs and BACs, pregnancy tests, LCMS confirmations, and admissions as requested.
• Educate clients, as needed and perform other related nursing duties as required
