Registered Nurse -Post Op



HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland has been an integral part of Galveston County for more than 60 years. We offer 223 beds and services in emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, physical therapy, radiology, total joint replacements, hyperbaric medicine diagnostic/imaging services and wound care facilities.

What you will do in this role:

  • The Registered Nurse coordinates nursing care for the patient and participates in patient / family education.

  • Works collaboratively with ancillary staff and other patient care personnel in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

  • Participates in performance improvement activities to improve patient safety and quality of care.

  • Maintains cultural and diversity awareness when dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers.

  • Promotes a supportive, teamwork-oriented environment.

  • Fulfills departmental responsibilities consistent with the long-range plan, mission, vision and values of HCA Houston Healthcare.



What you will need:

  • Current Texas licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners as an RN.

  • BSN

  • At least 6 months or more experience in Nursing

  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification

  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS)

  • Current Emergency Pediatric course (ENPC) certification highly preferred
