Areas of Responsibility:
- Helps facilitate the development and improvement of business processes to address regulatory requirements and manage risks, such as regulatory compliance procedures and emerging regulatory issues.
- Provides regulatory guidance to the new product development processes from concept through commercialization for projects.
- Manages customer requests in relation to Regulatory Affairs inquiries.
- Provides support regarding state and federal quality grading (USDA AMS, FDA PMO).
- Provides Regulatory support during regulatory inspections, review inspection reports and provide insights on required actions and/or responses.
- Collaborates with designated Trade Associations, state and federal agencies and represent the company on selected committees and working groups, support comment process for new regulations.
- Supports international market permissibility and legislative acceptability matrix for dairy foods.
- Oversees FDA facility registration process.
Required Experience/Knowledge/Skills
- 4-year bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience of relevant regulatory experience in food manufacturing or similar industry.
Preferred Experience:
- Proficient understanding and interpretation of domestic US food laws and regulations, international requirements for registration and exportability of food ingredients a plus.
- Proficient with the concepts of hazard analysis, risk assessments, and system/process applications that apply to food production.
- Demonstrated knowledge in: Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic Act (FFDA), and State Regulations.
- Proficient in: United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Codex Alimentarius, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO), USDA- AMS Milk Grading Program and California Proposition 65.
- Competencies - Excellent organizational, communications (both verbal and written), interpersonal and team interaction skills.
Salary: 75K to 110K depending on experience
