Job description
The Release of Information (ROI) Specialist is responsible and accountable for the timely and accurate release of patient medical information in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, federal regulations and state statutes. Functions include assuring proper documentation prior to release of records, tracking the status to completion of pending ROI requests and assisting with ROI Customer Service Representative functions. Individuals must also possess the skills necessary to troubleshoot ROI issues that may arise.Qualifications: Associate Degree in Health Information Technology, Paralegal or equivalent experience/training in Health Information Management or a related field. High school diploma or equivalent required. Preference to candidates with prior experience in a health information management department or related experience in the release of medical information.
