The Reliability Engineer will set-up and administer our CMMS system, including processing maintenance requests and optimizing our PM program. This individual will provide project engineering support for various maintenance-related projects and will be responsible for ensuring the required repair materials are available. This will require a close working relationship with maintenance, MRO, and other shop floor personnel.
Urick Ductile Solutions is a ductile iron foundry located in Erie, PA, producing a wide variety of high-quality castings for various markets. We are pursuing improvements to our shop maintenance coordination and technical expertise, with the goal of reducing equipment downtime.
AS A RELIABILITY ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
- Directly support facilities and maintenance projects requiring engineering support - this includes pursuing improved equipment performance and reliability.
- Develop maintenance systems to streamline the effectiveness and capacity of our maintenance talent:
- Configure and launch a new CMMS system; identify the required data and parameters, and work with the team to acquire all necessary inputs; and train all maintenance and plant personnel as required to support the launch and use of the system.
- Assist in processing all maintenance requests upon receipt and ordering repair parts as necessary, work with maintenance supervision to assign responsibilities and priorities, and ensure all open maintenance requests remain listed and prioritized until completion.
- Assist in coordinating PM activity through the maintenance personnel, ensure PMs remain organized and completed per the required schedule, track the completion of PM activity, and proactively identify additional PM tasks required to minimize machine downtime.
- Track equipment downtime to identify reoccurring issues, and work with maintenance and engineering personnel to identify and pursue permanent resolution.
- Participate in root cause investigations to provide technical input and develop practical solutions.
- Collaboration with equipment manufacturers to resolve technical problems as needed.
- Write appropriation requests for maintenance projects requiring capital approval.
- Provide back-up maintenance supervision when needed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
- Associate's degree in Engineering, technical school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong organizational skills with proven abilities in project management
- Reasonable knowledge of mechanical and electrical functions of plant manufacturing equipment
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to use 2D/3D CAD software
- Ability to organize and respect peer employees in a team-oriented environment
- Possesses a genuine passion and enthusiasm for positive maintenance process changes with the goals of better servicing our customers and improving the welfare of our employees
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree is preferred
- Past experience with CMMS and/or ERP systems
- Prior experience with PLC and/or robot programming
- Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventors
