We are seeking Research Assistant for the development and implementation of a process evaluation study for the Elmer A. Henderson: A Johns Hopkins Partnership After-School Care Program.Specific Duties & Responsibilities
The individual for this position will also be responsible for laying the groundwork for an outcome evaluation of the program.
Developing an evaluation plan in collaboration with school staff.
Creating data collection instruments for process and future outcome evaluation.
Obtaining IRB approval.
Collecting data for the process evaluation, which will include conducting observations of the after school "clubs"; conducting interviews with participants and teachers/staff; and conducting a document review of program material.
Creating a set of indicators for collecting administrative data about the program.
Analyzing and summarizing the data.
Creating a report of the process evaluation fundings.
Disseminating the findings to the school via presentation and/or briefs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
MSPH or MPH Degree.
Experience in evaluation either by taking coursework or actual experience in conducting an evaluation.
Knowledge of research methods.
Skills in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analyses.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
